Janine has been an educator in Alachua County since 2004. She taught at GHS and was the Director of the Academy of Health Professions until 2021. Janine is currently teaching at Saint Francis Catholic Academy as the Director of Health Sciences Institute. Her passion for educating future health care professionals is the driving force behind her love of teaching and nursing (RN for 50 yrs).

Janine was appointed to the School Board of Alachua County in April 2025. Since then, she has made sure to be kept informed regarding all aspects of district management. The School Board has the responsibility to form policy and the budget. Janine has continued to delve into all aspects of both school board policies and the ACPS fiscal accountability. With a budget of 624 million dollars in 25/26 school year, ACPS needs to continue to be unrelenting stewards of the taxpayer's money and use it continually further expand, grow and enhance the education of all students of the Alachua County school system.

Having lived in Gainesville since 1992, the Alachua County school system has continued to undergo many changes and now more than ever with the upcoming superintendent search and redistricting. My goal is to find a superintendent that will embrace our school community and carefully examine our current redistricting plan along with providing support, direction and leadership to our teachers, staff, parents and the Gainesville community. It is extremely important that as a board member that we all work together in order to create a better product to stop the hemorrhaging of our students from Alachua County schools.
